An unforgettable experience!

My wife and I got married here last October and we had the most amazing experience of our lives. I have never felt so cared for at any venue or hotel before visiting Cigarral. We found this beautiful place online and visited in Feb 2024. We instantly fell in love with the venue and the people and knew we made the right decision.

From the moment you check in, you are welcomed by the most enthusiastic and gracious staff. They treated my family and friends like they were royalty. The level of service here rivals the best hotels across Europe. Just amazing how kind and helpful everyone was. Andre, the manager, Kelsey and Lorraine, our planners, and the entire staff deserve awards for the level of service they bring to the table.

Now to the wedding day. The decor was tasteful and they did all the heavy lifting. Everything was beautiful and ran very well. You can tell they are experts in running a wedding smoothly. They anticipated all of our needs and made sure none of our guests needed anything. The food was some of the best food I've ever eaten. There were so many types of Canapés that we really didn't need to have the dinner portion. It was delicious! The dinner was also fantastic. I mean, the food just kept on coming. It was insane.

After dinner, we partied and our DJ played all the songs we requested while playing his own and keeping the dance floor bumpin.

We were unsure at first because we didn't know much about Spain or this venue but looking back now, we wouldn't choose any other place to get married. We will always remember our wedding at Cigarral de las Mercedes and how special it was. We will definitely come back soon. If you're on the fence, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Best decision we've ever made!

Oh man where do I start... I truly had a wedding that people could only dream of and that is all because of the team at the Cigarral. Every single element was planned to perfection, every single member of staff were amazing and gracious and it was honestly the best days of mine and my husbands life and we have the Cigarral to thank for that.

From the moment I called to enquire about the venue to the day we got married, this team treated me like a princess, giving me all the time, advice and help I could ever need even though I was planning from half way across the world. A huge call out to our planner and co-ordinator Kelsey who was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and I am a very particular bride, yet she managed all of my questions, whims and ideas like an absolute pro!

To all of the other amazing staff at the Cigarral from Sara (who was 8 months pregnant and still helping out), Andrea, Ana and a whole host of others, every day went off without a hitch because of this incredible team. I also wanted to make a huge call out to the hotel team, the grounds staff, the chefs, the bar crew and DJ Andres. Every element from the food morning and night, to the rooms for all of our guests, the free flowing pouring of drinks and the music... There just aren't enough words to describe how lucky I was to get to have my wedding here. My guests tell me to this day that it was the best wedding they have ever been to, including many of their own. I am now just waiting for a reason to have a vow renewal so that I can go back and do it all again!

For all future brides and grooms trying to decide where to get married, do not even hesitate to look any further.... Cigarral de las Mercedes is the only place you need to consider!

In the early hours of the morning after we got engaged in Madrid, I couldn't sleep while my new fiancé slept soundly next to me. I searched destination weddings in Spain, found this very blog (Wedinspire), and came across the photo you will see above with the table and candles and the gorgeous Spanish building. I fell in love with that photo alone. By lunchtime the brochure was requested.

There was not much point looking any further, although I made some effort to at least try, but Cigarral was meant to be. I have absolutely no regrets about that decision.

I cannot fault anything from the very first meeting to leaving the venue after the wedding. Our only regret was not staying an extra day afterwards to soak it all in before heading on our honeymoon.

Scenery was spectacular. Food was outstanding.

But even with all its beauty, the shining star is all their staff. They made the experience so seamless, easy and stress free. Special mention to Kelsey and Lorraine who I already feel I miss. If you are thinking of having a coordinator on the day as well as the planner before I would highly recommend!! Couldn't have done it without Lorraine taking the helm on the day.

It truly is a special place. Our guests were completely blown away (some even booking an extra night stay as they fell so in love).

We will definitely be back for an anniversary celebration in the future.

We had an amazing welcome party and mirador wedding overlooking the ancient city of Toledo. Every detail was well thought out - I didn’t need to hire a wedding planner because the property had it all covered. Our guests said it was the most magical event!

Absolutely out of this world. Such an amazing place! The staff are the best. I could not recommend this place highly enough.

We celebrated our wedding here. The best place in Toledo (Spain). Wonderful staff, great food, beautiful views of the town. Everything was at the highest standard. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
